Building on a foundation of 19 years (and counting) as a clinic nurse in family medicine, Bev brings a wealth of experience working with patients of all ages and life stages. She is deeply committed to patient-centered care with a focus on preventive health, chronic disease management, and personalized education.
Bev recognized the importance of foot care as an integral part of patient preventative care over the years leading her to pursue her Advanced Foot Care Nurse certification. This training allows her to help individuals maintain mobility, independence, and overall wellness. With treatments for conditions such as ingrown toenails, calluses, corns and diabetic foot care, Bev will tailor her care to meet the individual needs in every stage of life. Bev is also accustomed to collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote long-term health and is looking forward to working alongside the FIT healthcare team.
A strong advocate for early intervention and patient education, Bev inspires individuals to take charge of their health. Her proactive approach focuses on preventing complications, particularly for those managing chronic conditions like diabetes and using education and support for patients to achieve long-term well-being.
Bev’s enthusiasm for continuing education has driven her to upgrading her nutrition certificate to a Level 5 Diploma as well as taking other courses including woman’s health. This reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and expands her knowledge to address unique patient needs. Her goal is to provide holistic care tailored to the needs of her patients.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Bev volunteers with the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program, where she and her therapy dog, Daisy, bring comfort and joy to long term care homes and schools. In her free time, Bev enjoys adventure and creativity involving everything from motocross, kayaking, skiing to crocheting, knitting, and spending quality time with her family and her doodles, Daisy and Rosie.
