Bradley Zhao is a newly registered Manual Osteopathic Practitioner who graduated at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. During his studies, he learned that dysfunction is not limited to just the musculoskeletal system, but may also involve the fascia, nervous system, blood circulation/vascular system, and viscera. His understanding of anatomy and physiology, along with his osteopathic principles and techniques, helps him understand how dysfunction in one area of the body can affect other structures and systems as well.
His approach to Osteopathy follows the core beliefs that the body is capable of self-healing and self-regulating when structures of the body are functioning optimally. Bradley aims to find the root cause of the problem rather than focusing on the symptoms. By looking at the body as a whole, he can work with the body to help improve a patient's mobility and function to improve their quality of life.
He is also a former competitive swimmer who achieved provincial and championship standards with Swim Alberta. He specializes in long distance swimming and his best events were the 400 meter and 800 meter freestyle. During his time as an athlete, he went through intense training to achieve his goals, so he understands how chronic pain can affect an athlete's performance and how it can lead to severe injuries over time. He finds it meaningful to help individuals improve mobility and function so they can continue working toward their goals.
