This session is designed for anyone pregnant in search of practical, evidence-based advice on navigating labour, delivery, and the early postpartum period. Written by a pelvic health physiotherapist and a women’s health occupational therapist, this lecture focuses on the things you can do now to optimize recovery, the kinds of decisions that tend to come up during labour, what to expect when plans change, and what advocacy can look like in the moment for the birthing person. We also cover early postpartum recovery, with clear, evidence-based guidance on activity pacing, managing pressure and fatigue, and avoiding common mistakes that can delay healing and your return to whatever makes you feel like you. It is about informed advocacy, collaborative decision-making, and setting yourself up for the best possible recovery, regardless of how birth unfolds.
Please note, if you are booking this appointment during pregnancy an internal pelvic exam cannot be completed until you are a minimum of 12 weeks pregnant.
