Brittany graduated from McMaster University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy, and previously earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to pursuing her post-secondary education, Brittany was a competitive provincial gymnast, which sparked her interest in understanding the human body and ultimately led her to pursue a career in physiotherapy. After retiring from gymnastics, she continued to stay involved in movement through dance, participating, instructing, and choreographing at a recreational level throughout university. She continues to dance recreationally today, particularly in jazz and contemporary styles.
Since graduating, Brittany has pursued numerous continuing education courses to ensure she provides the highest standard of evidence-based care to her patients. These include Level 1 National Orthopaedic Division Manual Therapy Certification, Evaluation and Treatment of Lower Back Pain, Upper Extremity and Lower Extremity Injuries in Gymnasts, and Gait Foundations. She is also a Pain Truth Certified Therapist and an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor.
Throughout her career, Brittany has worked with individuals of all ages and activity levels, including artistic athletes in gymnastics, dance, aerials, swimming, and skating. She is passionate about helping patients take an active role in their recovery and guiding them back to movement that is meaningful to them. Brittany believes in a collaborative and individualized approach to treatment, focusing on identifying the root cause of injury in order to guide appropriate movement strategies, activity modifications, and hands-on treatment. She also emphasizes patient education around anatomy, pain, and exercise to promote understanding, confidence, and long-term recovery.
Outside of the clinic, Brittany enjoys living an active and outdoor lifestyle. She loves camping, pilates, hiking, yoga, and cross-country skiing. When she’s not busy moving, she enjoys watching reality TV, playing board games, traveling, and is always happy to hear new restaurant, hiking, or recipe recommendations.
