Brittany grew up as a competitive provincial gymnast, which sparked her interest in the human body. Further growing and developing her interest, she pursued an undergraduate degree in a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University. Her passion for the human body and helping people led her to her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy at McMaster University.
She has extensive experience working with diverse populations of all ages and fitness levels. Her expertise ranges from injury prevention and strengthening to care of acute injuries and long-term conditions. Brittany is dedicated to taking an evidence-based, holistic, and individualized approach with patients. It is important to her that all her patients feel heard, supported, and met with a clear plan that meets their unique individual needs. She is passionate about her patients taking an active role in their recovery and achieving their goals to return to movement that is meaningful to them.
Her treatment philosophy entails a collaborative approach with her patients following a comprehensive assessment to create an individualized plan. This approach involves a combination of hands-on manual therapy, exercise, and education to target the root cause. Brittany is eager to empower patients with the education and tools they need to understand and manage their conditions. She is particularly interested in working with youth athletes of all levels. She also loves working with individuals interested in improving performance, improving strength, and preventing injuries. She also has a special interest in working with individuals with low back, shoulder, and ankle injuries.
In addition to previously being a competitive provincial gymnast, she is also a dancer. She instructed dance at university and still currently dances recreationally in jazz and contemporary styles. She loves working with artistic athletes and enthusiasts of all ages!
Out of the office, she enjoys an outdoor and active lifestyle. She enjoys camping and canoeing, and is always looking for new hiking trails around the city. She also welcomes any restaurant, board game, or TV show recommendations!
