Camila Varela, DPT, Bsc (Kin) | Physiotherapy Assistant
Camila’s journey into physiotherapy began with a passion for human movement and rehabilitation. After completing a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management at Humber College, she worked as a Registered Kinesiologist, helping individuals recover from injury and build confidence through exercise. Wanting to expand her impact on patient care, Camila moved to Australia to pursue a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Bond University, where she further developed her clinical expertise in assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Now back in Ontario and awaiting physiotherapy registration, Camila works as a Physiotherapy Assistant, supporting patients as they work toward their recovery goals. Her experience as both a Registered Kinesiologist and Disability Case Manager has given her a well-rounded understanding of the physical, functional, and personal factors that influence health outcomes. She has a particular interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation, and women's health. Outside the clinic, Camila enjoys staying active through recreational sports and hiking, exploring Toronto's diverse food scene, and spending time with her dog.
