Cara’s passion for anatomy and manual therapy has led her into a career in massage. She attributes her career to not only having helped her understand the human body better, but people in general. This calling has also taken her on a journey into learning stillness through meditation and grounding in our bodies. All these attributes have aided Cara in guiding and helping people to find freedom from their ailments and the pain holding them back. Massage therapy fuels Cara’s instinctive purpose to help others. Her vision as a massage therapist is to not only see you free from the pain holding you back physically but to see you live life to the fullest. Cara graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2015 and has spent the last 8 years honing her techniques.
Cara is currently in the 3rd year of the Osteopathic manual pratitioner studies program at the Canadian School of Osteopathy. Many techniques (that remain in the massage therapy scope of practice) learned in the program are utilized in her treatments. Please note; that most of Cara’s treatments are conducted without the use of massage oils.
The techniques that are implented in her practice are:
Cranial Sacral
Visceral Manipulation
Muscle Energy Technique
Structural and functional myofascial release
Cara emphasizes the importance of making sure patients feel heard and validated. Please know that your concerns will always be regarded as important, no matter the size.
On Cara’s days off you can usually find her spending time with her partner, Phil, her dog, Daisy (who you might see around the clinic from time to time!), and her cat Kevin - Tending to her vivacious backyard garden, knitting a colorful, vibrant sweater, practicing yoga, or hunkered down reading one of her favorite anatomy books.
* PLEASE NOTE: Cara is not a registered Osteopathic manual practitioner and all techniques and modalities used are practiced within the scope of her regulatory body the College of Massage Therapists of Canada.*
