**Clinical Counsellor**
Courtenay is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#16885) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and Registered Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor with the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (#1191). She holds a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology, with a focus in Vocational Rehabilitation Counselling from the University of British Columbia.
For as long as she can remember, Courtenay has enjoyed helping others and aims to provide her clients the support they need to achieve their goals. She plans to do so through the establishment of a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients from the outset of treatment.
Prior to forging a career path as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor, she worked for various non-profit, community-based programs, supporting youth with co-occurring disorders in the attainment of their educational and vocational pursuits as well as in the development of life skills to help them be successful when they transition out of care into either a semi-independent or independent living arrangement. Courtenay has a special interest in working with youth and teachers. Courtenay has experience working with clients, both youth and adults, who face a wide range of disabling conditions including: stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, soft tissue injuries, grief & loss, life transitions, relationship challenges, addictions, and individuals who present with co-occurring disorders. She has also worked with individuals seeking support with return to work and overcoming the barriers that may be present as a result of their ongoing residual limitations. Courtenay’s therapeutic approach draws from evidence- based methods such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing, along with person-centered and strengths-based approaches.

Youth Counselling sessions are intended for youths between the ages of 13 - 18 as subsequent appointments.

Initial Youth Assessments are intended for youths between the ages of 13 - 18. As an initial first session, the youth's Parental/Legal Guardian must be present during check-in when informed consent is reviewed.
