Courtney Cartmel is a Registered Acupuncturist with over five years of clinical experience helping people feel more at home in their bodies through acupuncture and nervous system support.
She works with individuals experiencing chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, pain, hormonal imbalances, digestive concerns, headaches, sleep issues, fertility challenges, and other symptoms that often feel interconnected. Her approach is holistic and individualized, focusing not only on symptom relief but on supporting the body's ability to regulate, heal, and function optimally.
With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University and a background spanning rehabilitation and disability support, athletic therapy, and 5 years of personal support work, Courtney brings a well-rounded perspective to patient care. Throughout her healthcare career, one principle has remained constant: every person is unique, and effective treatment starts with truly listening.
Patients often describe Courtney's treatment room as a safe and welcoming space where they feel heard, supported, and comfortable showing up exactly as they are. She is passionate about helping people move beyond simply managing symptoms and toward feeling more resilient, energized, and connected to themselves.
In addition to acupuncture, Courtney offers cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling treatments, blending traditional wisdom with evidence-informed approaches to support both health and skin vitality. She also incorporates complementary therapies such as cupping, gua sha, red light therapy, Dolphin Neurostim MPS, lifestyle recommendations, and ear seeds when appropriate.
Committed to continual growth as a practitioner, Courtney is currently mentoring under local acupuncturist and Jack Connelly, RAc. She is also a certified Pilates instructor, reflecting her passion for movement, functional health, and helping people build a stronger connection with their bodies.
Born and raised in the Peterborough area, Courtney feels grateful to serve the community she calls home and to support her patients in finding greater balance, resilience, and well-being.
