Dan Bos joined Abbotsford Physiotherapy in September, 2008. Together with his wife, Tanya Bos, they purchased Abbotsford Physiotherapy in January, 2009. After taking over ownership of the clinic, they re- named the clinic Abbotsford Sports & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy. Dan and Tanya recently sold the clinic to associates at the office, Kenton, and Alysha Sieben. Kenton and Alysha took over the clinic in June of 2022. Dan graduated from UBC in May 2003 with both a Kinesiology and Physiotherapy degree. He has worked in a sports medicine private practice setting ever since. Dan has completed all 5 levels in the Orthopaedic Division’s manual therapy program through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He achieved his Certificate of Intermediate Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in May 2005 and his diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in November 2005. He received a distinction credit on his Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy exam which he attributes to great mentorship from many talented practitioners including May Nolan, Diane Lee, Cliff Fowler and Carol Kennedy. Dan is a certified IMS (dry needling) practitioner. He also has certifications in Concussion management (Shift Concussion Provider), Applied Kinesiology (100-hour course with Dr. Jay Grossman), Sports Physiotherapy First Aid. Since starting his physiotherapy profession in 2003, Dan has volunteered his physiotherapy services at various athletic events. Such events include the B.C. Summer games, B.C. Senior games, running group training seminars and races, gymnastics competitions, B.C. Collegiate Volleyball Championships, University of the Fraser Valley sporting events, and CBC sporting events. Dan has worked with various junior and professional hockey players on various injuries and performance enhancement. Dan worked with the Vancouver Canucks during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons. Dan currently serves as a consultant physiotherapist for the Abbotsford Canucks. Dan works with several NHL players during their season and off-season. He focuses on maintenance of spinal alignment, hip mobility, and muscle activation. He stresses the importance of maintenance treatments to prevent overuse injuries and help prolong athletic careers. Dan specializes in sports injury treatment and prevention. Such injuries include concussion and upper cervical spine injury / management, hip and groin injury / management, post operative shoulder rehabilitation, and high ankle injury / management. Dan’s key interest is working together with the Abbotsford Sports & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team on elite athletes to help prevent injury, enhance performance, and recover effectively from injury. Dan believes strongly in a multi-practitioner approach to sports injury treatment and management and states that this is the main reason for starting his own practice.
