Deanna is passionate about health and wellness. She loves working one on one with clients to help them reach their optimal health through massage and yoga.
Deanna has been a massage therapist for the past 16 years. She graduated from Mount Royal College Massage Therapy Program in 2003 and has since then taken a variety of training to support her in healing practice. She has successfully treated a wide range of muscular dysfunctions including tension headaches, low back pain, shin splints, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow and other conditions with positive results. Her massage background led her gracefully into the study and practice of yoga.
Deanna’s passion for yoga started in 2013. She believes that daily practice not only promotes physical and mental wellness, but it also helps to generate mindfulness and positivity to all aspects of life. She followed her heart and completed her 200-hour Yoga teacher training in July 2017 in Calgary with focus on Vinyasa Flow, Restorative and Yin Yoga. She continued her training traveling to India in 2018 to complete 300-hour teacher training with focus in Ashtanga & Hatha. She loved her training in India so much that she went back in 2019 to acquire more knowledge taking another 300-hour course with more focus on Vinyasa and Hatha. All her training had in-depth emphasis on proper alignment of yoga postures, anatomy, pranayama (breath controls), meditation and yoga philosophy. It is just the beginning of the endless landscape of knowledge she wishes to acquire in the future. She feels the beauty of yoga is the continual learning about oneself mentally, emotionally, and physically to become the best version of ourselves.
Deanna combines her knowledge and experience of teaching yoga and working as a registered massage therapist to create therapeutic yoga programs specifically designed to meet the physical/emotional/mental needs of each client based on their individual needs. Over the years she has had positive results in prescribing yoga postures to clients in helping them correct malalignments within their bodies due to repetitive strains and injuries.
