As a primary caregiver, a physiotherapist can offer a clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan for your injury through a combination of a movement assessment, manual therapy, Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation, and exercise prescription. Education plays an important role in physiotherapy. The goal of physiotherapy is to return you to your optimal function and strength, while educating you about your injury. This allows you to independently maintain a healthy body without the constant supervision of a therapist.
Please Note that Derek offers varied treatment lengths which can cater to your individual needs and budgets. 40-minute appointments are recommended for 1st physiotherapy assessments and assessments for orthotics. Please understand that session length are not cut in stone; if Derek's assessment determines the optimal management requires medical imaging such as an X-ray to assess for a spinal fracture (a real example), the actual session may not require more than 5 minutes...

40 minute Assessment for those who have been involved in a recent Motor Vehicle Accident and have a ICBC claim number. Please note that Derek is unable to direct bill ICBC and clients will be required to pay out of pocket and seek reimbursement from ICBC directly. For approved claims; ICBC will fund up to 25 physiotherapy sessions within the first 12 weeks of the date of Motor Vehicle Accident.
