Originally from Vancouver BC, Dr. Alim Kara received his Bachelors of Science degree (with distinction) in Biology from the University of Victoria and then received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) with both cum laude and clinical honors. He also received a certification to perform Biomedical Acupuncture with a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) foundation from CMCC. Dr. Kara has been an established chiropractor in NW Calgary since 2010, currently providing care at the University of Calgary Wellness Centre as well as his private practice. Having already published two awarded research articles on inter-professional collaboration in healthcare as well as volunteering on the Canadian Chiropractic Examination Board (CCEB), Dr. Kara has a keen interest in evolving and contributing to the chiropractic profession at large. In his spare time, Dr. Kara enjoys hiking with his wife and dog, playing flag football and outdoor soccer and spending time exploring Calgary’s amazing outdoors and restaurant scene.

The R2P protocol entails a thorough examination, which tests all aspects of concussion syndrome and post concussion syndrome. The examination will evaluate your specific symptoms. Common symptoms persisting from a concussion are: neck pain/stiffness, headache, dizziness, visual blurring, double vision as well as possible balance and concentration problems. Following the examination, a step-wise treatment plan with regular progressions based on the individual’s functional limitations will be prescribed. This treatment plan will incorporate a return to work/school protocol followed by a return to play/sport progression. Due to the complexity of post concussion syndrome your care may require referral to other health providers and our team at CCST will ensure you are referred for the appropriate care.
