Andrea began her career as an engineer, but her own health challenges led her to discover acupuncture. This experience ignited a deep passion for alternative medicine and a desire to help others on their healing journeys. She pursued this calling by earning her Diploma in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from MacEwan University in 2008. After practicing within multidisciplinary wellness clinics for years, Andrea founded Thrive Acupuncture in West Edmonton in 2021 and added community-style acupuncture to her offerings in 2024. Community acupuncture takes place in a comfortable group setting where you choose your treatment from a specialized menu. It’s an affordable option that allows you to relax, recharge, and even catch up with friends while you unwind.

Community Acupuncture is done in a group setting in the common area of the clinic. There will be no need to undress as I use points below the knees & elbows as well as the head & ears to treat the entire body, so just remove your shoes and roll up your pants and sleeves - loose clothing is best for this. You will be seated in recliners near other people receiving treatment at the same time. This is an opportunity to receive treatment with friends or family. This is a great way to try acupuncture without a significant cost or time commitment. Perhaps you have depleted your benefits for the year and you would like to keep up with treatment, perhaps you don't have benefits at all. Walk-ins during Community hours are always welcome but booking an appointment does ensure that your wait time will be as minimal as possible. For more complex cases and added privacy we offer private one-on-one acupuncture (select New Patient Appointment or Follow Up if you've been treated here before. Private sessions may include electro stimulation, cupping or gua sha, whereas community acupuncture sessions are acupuncture on the front of the body only.
