Co-owner and founder of Coastline Health and Performance. Dr. Jilesen grew up in Ontario, where he completed a Bachelor’s of science in Kinesiology at Mcmaster University. His desire to continue studying human movement lead him to Chiropractic, and completing his Doctor of Chiropractic at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Upon graduating he decided to make the move west and his passion for the outdoors eventually lead him to the Sunshine Coast.
Dr. Jilesen has taken extensive additional education in joint mobility training, shoulder rehab, gait assessment, hip and foot biomechanics, nerve entrapment treatment, and soft tissue therapy. He has become passionate about human movement and helping people achieve their goals. His treatment includes a combination of joint manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue therapy, exercise prescription, and patient education. He actively promotes exercise and strives to give his patients the tools to help themselves recover faster, move better, and feel stronger.
As an outdoors enthusiast, he still leads an active lifestyle skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, hiking, and weight lifting. Dr. Jilesen is also a certified Dive Master, starting his scuba training in Honduras, and completing it in Malaysia. He has also travelled to Ukraine, Russia, Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Thailand. His love for exploring the outdoors has ultimately drawn him to the west coast lifestyle.
Dr. Jilesen is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, the British Columbia Chiropractic Association, and the college of Chiropractors of British Columbia.
