Dr. Christina McGlashan is the Clinic Director of River Oaks Chiropractic and Wellness Centre and has been practicing as a Chiropractor and Acupuncture practitioner for over 15 years. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology and Genetics at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver. Subsequently, she went on to graduate with numerous awards, including clinical skills excellence, and clinic honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, in Toronto. Dr. McGlashan completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University in 2004, and has completed her Fellowship of Chiropractic Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation, a specialty of Chiropractic. She is the only Chiropractic Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist in Oakville.
Dr. McGlashan enjoys an active lifestyle and instills the importance of overall good health with proper nutrition, exercise, and balancing work and family in a healthy manner. She understands the many demands and stress of a busy lifestyle and works with each patient to ensure their optimal health by meeting all of their health care goals in an individual manner that works for them. She enjoys treating people of all ages from all walks of life, and all conditions that involve muscles, nerves, and joints.

Chiropractic Extended Visits are for patients who have seen Dr. McGlashan for treatment before BUT: Have not been in for treatment with Dr. McGlashan for more than 6 months OR Have a new concern that you would like Dr. McGlashan to address OR Feel you need more time with Dr. McGlashan to address your health concerns. These appointments include extra time to discuss new health concerns, examine a new injury, or re-examine an old injury or health concern as well as include treatment.
Chiropractic Initial Visits are for your first visit to see Dr. McGlashan, for patients seeking Chiropractic Treatment. This appointment is for Dr. McGlashan to learn about your health and what has brought you in to seek treatment as well as a detailed physical examination related to your concern. Treatment is usually also included with this first visit. The entire appointment including treatment takes approximately 1 hour. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE FINDING AN APPOINTMENT TIME PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE AND WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO FIND AN EARLIER APPOINTMENTFOR YOU.
Chiropractic treatments are for patients who have already had their initial visit with Dr. McGlashan and are continuing their care. (Please note if it has been more than 6 months since your last treatment please book a Chiropractic Extended Visit) These treatments usually include hands on work with the soft tissues of your body (muscles, fascia, ligaments, etc.), as well as joint manipulations or mobilizations and stretching or strengthening exercises.
This treatment is by video through Telehealth, a secure and encrypted software, to allow you to connect one on one with the practitioner to discuss your health issues and get advice or exercise on how to manage your symptoms in a more detailed manner. You do NOT need to come in to the clinic for this appointment.
These appointments are by video through Telehealth, a secure and encrypted software, to allow you to connect one on one with the practitioner to discuss your health issues and get advice or exercise on how to manage your symptoms or to determine if you need emergency treatment in our clinic.
Chiropractic and Acupuncture Treatments are for patients who have already had their initial visit with Dr. McGlashan and include enough time to address your health concerns with both Chiropractic and Acupuncture treatments. Please note Acupuncture treatments will be claimed under your Chiropractic health care benefits.
Custom Orthotic Fittings are for patients who would like to be fitted for a custom orthotic foot insert. These appointments include a detailed history about your foot concerns, a detailed examination of your feet and gait, as well as molds of your feet to make the custom foot orthotic. Please note Dr. McGlashan is not able to do ORTHOPEDIC shoes and all custom inserts are made by an offsite lab which takes approximately 2 weeks. Custom Orthotic fittings done by Dr. McGlashan will be accepted under your Custom Orthotic Health Benefits.
Appointment booked for patient once orthotic insert has been received by our office. Complimentary trial session for patient to see if orthotics are right for patient.
