AjouterI am an AASECT certified (Diplomate) Sex Therapist/ and Supervisor, an Associate in Sex Education and a Clinical Sexologist. I also provide psychological/forensic assessment services and counselling to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Although I use numerous psychological approaches to achieve client success, my foundation is in client-centered, cognitive behavioural therapy within a systemic model that focuses on pushing through issues for growth and success.

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Re-processing (EMDR) techniques for recurrent traumatic images and post traumatic stress disorder issues as well as Clinical Hypnosis. I am also trained in forensic, custody/access, risk and parenting/psychological assessments.
I am frequently contacted by magazines and major newspapers for interviews and I've often been quoted in print on topics related to sexuality, relationships and violence issues. I've been quoted in the Edmonton Journal, the Edmonton and Toronto Sun, and See Magazine to name a few and I was a regular guest on Access/Help T.V. and has also made guest appearances on CBC T.V., CBC radio and A Channel and 630 CHED.

An End of Life Doula, sometimes called a death doula or death midwife, supports those facing a life-limiting illness or diagnosis and their loved ones. The End of Life doula can educate, advocate for, and empower clients by starting the conversation about death and embracing the dying process early. By aligning the client’s needs with their expectations and wishes, the End of Life Doula can significantly improve the quality and dignity of the end of life journey.

A postnatal consultation is a comprehensive infant feeding appointment. During this visit, we take a detailed medical history, do an exam of the baby, possibly an exam of the breast/chest area, watch a feeding, and discuss your concerns, as well as any clinical information I observe during the visit. With your goals in mind, we discuss options, provide hands-on help trying techniques/tools, and put a plan in place to help you get to where you would like to be. Evidence-based information, practical tips, and empathetic listening are a core foundation for every consultation.

The comprehensive curriculum covers establishing support systems, understanding newborn needs, planning for rest and nutrition, managing family dynamics, and recognizing signs of postpartum mood disorders. Through interactive discussions, journaling activities, and practical planning exercises, expectant parents will develop a personalized postpartum plan that prioritizes healing, communication, and realistic expectations for life with a newborn.

A prenatal consultation is a comprehensive infant feeding education session. During this visit, we will cover all your questions and concerns about breastfeeding/infant feeding, so please bring a list with you. We also cover a detailed medical history, talk about your infant's feeding goals, and do an in-depth education session on normal newborn feeding behaviour and how to get your infant's feeding journey off on the best foot possible. If you like to be prepared, have had a previous breastfeeding experience that didn't go as you hoped, have medical concerns that you are worried may impact breastfeeding, or just want all the clinically based information possible, this is the prenatal session for you!
