Born and raised in Southern California, Dana has been moving steadily northward since University. She has always been a problem solver, curious and physically active. She believes this gives her the understanding of the need to stay mobile and independent. She feels that helping alleviate any pain that limits mobility is key to maintaining that independence and overall quality of life.
In this way, Podiatry allows Dana to use her interests in a way that can benefit others.
She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology for the University of California at San Diego.
Her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine is from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at San Francisco.
Residency was a hospital-based surgical focus program based in Portland, Oregon.
Dana recently obtained her Certification in Wound Care from the American Physicians for Wound Healing.
She has been in private practice in various smaller communities in Oregon and Washington state and then moved to British Columbia in 2007 where she practiced in Burnaby and Squamish.
Dana brings over 22 years of experience to the Kootenay-Boundary area.
Her key areas of interest are in Biomechanics and Gait Analysis, Orthotics, along with Diabetic Foot and Wound Care.

This is virtual appointment for a follow up visit. This is appropriate for anyone who has already been seen by Dr. Alumbaugh. This is not appropriate for anyone who needs palliative foot care/treatment.
This appointment will start with a brief overview of prior appointments to see if there has been any changes in the foot or your health. Routine care of the nails/feet will be completed as well as addressing any new concerns.

Initial Visit to this Podiatrist, regardless if you are an existing patient to the clinic.
At this appointment we will go over your medical history, and do an assessment of your feet and lower legs. Once that is complete care will be provided to the nails and foot. This includes thickened, ingrown, and fungal nails well as callus and corn reduction. Any teaching will be provided at this time as well for prevention care, improvement and maintenance of the feet.
For a virtual first-time appointment with Dr. Alumbaugh. This is appropriate for those patients who desire information and advise. This is not appropriate for anyone who is interested in orthotic devices at this time.
For returning patients only. Continued evaluation and treatment of foot and/or leg ailment. May include x-ray or other diagnostic study review.
For returning patients only. Nail trimming and/or simple callus removal
For returning patients only. Biomechanical evaluation, Gait exam, Plantar Fasciosis or other muscuko-skeletal injury
Orthotic Dispense/Follow up This visit is limited to evaluation of the orthotic only. This does not include examination or treatment of the foot.
