Dr. Lakhan was raised in Surrey, British Columbia. He completed his undergraduate studies in
Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree
from Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon, USA. His clinical training included
rotations at the Fresno Veterans Hospital, where he focused on ocular disease, as well as other
medical centers with an emphasis on family eye care.
Dr. Lakhan has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as
glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. He is also passionate about vision therapy and its role in
improving functional vision and quality of life.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Lakhan enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He has a
lifelong love of soccer, having played with the Vancouver Whitecaps and UBC Men’s Varsity
team. He also enjoys exploring the outdoors and going on hikes.
