Dr. Heather Matchett graduated from Brock University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Hons) with First Class Standing. She then studied four more years in Toronto at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She graduated Cum Laude with Clinic Honours in 2012.
Along with chiropractic treatment, Dr. Matchett often uses acupuncture in her practice to assist in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. Dr. Matchett has her Level II Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping certification, which she uses along with deep tissue therapy and rehabilitation in order to best serve her patients.

Acupuncture needles will be used to treat affected musculoskeletal tissues, which aims to decrease pain while improving range of motion and overall function. Electrical current is typically used along with the needles as a means to accelerate healing and recovery time.
In this subsequent visit, chiropractic treatment will be performed. This could include a variety of the following: chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapy, leukotaping, laser therapy, rehabilitation exercises.
This visit will include an acupuncture session followed by chiropractic treatment focused on the chief complaint.

Cupping can be effective in treating pain, rage of motion restrictions, and a variety of injuries. Both static and dynamic cupping options are available.
Biomechanical and gait analyses will take place and the feet will be custom casted for orthotics. *Please speak with your insurance provider in order to ensure that a chiropractor can both CAST and DISPENSE your orthotics under your plan. Also, a note from your medical doctor is often required for insurance coverage.*
