Hi, I’m Dr. Heather McDowell! I’m a chiropractor and the owner of County Wellness Center. My passion for chiropractic began as a teen after a soccer injury—chiropractic care helped me get back on the field, and that experience inspired me to pursue this profession.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, followed by a Master’s in Exercise Physiology at San Jose State University. From there, I went on to graduate cum laude as class valedictorian from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in California. I’ve continued my training with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and I’m certified in the Webster Technique, the PIPS Technique, and as a kinesiologist. I’m also a certified Cranial Sacral Therapist. I especially enjoy working with kids and pregnant clients, supporting them through these important stages of life.

* I’m married to my husband John, and we’re raising two daughters, Poppy and Clover
* We share our home with our dogs, Ruby and Royal, and our cat Maverick
* I’ve had two all-natural home births in a birthing tub, which fuels my passion for natural family wellness
* I enjoy gardening, herbal medicine, and practicing yoga (which is how John and I met!)
* My favourite local beach is Sandbanks, and my favourite restaurant is Flame + Smith
* My go-to spot for coffee and a treat is Miss Lily’s Café
* I love being active outdoors—walking our dogs, hiking, running, and playing soccer
* Fun fact: health really runs in the family — my sister is also a chiropractor, and my dad is a dentist

Designed for new clients, the adult initial consultation includes a comprehensive consultation, a thorough skeletal and nervous system evaluation, and a detailed postural assessment.
This initial consultation is designed for infants to children under 12 years old, who have not yet visited our practice or seen our chiropractors. During this session, we will conduct a thorough consultation, a complete evaluation of the skeletal and nervous systems, a postural assessment, and a check of infant and childhood reflexes. We will also discuss how chiropractic care can support your child’s development from infancy through childhood.

This option is designed for new clients interested in laser therapy. If you’re new to our practice and haven’t seen one of our chiropractors before, this is the perfect starting point! The consultation includes a comprehensive assessment of your skeletal and nervous system, a detailed postural evaluation, and a discussion to determine if laser therapy is the right service for you. Follow-up laser appointments are best booked directly with our administrative team in the office.
