Dr. Julia Viscomi

A 2012 graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) with clinic honours, Dr. Viscomi also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. With more than 14 years of clinical experience and active practice including four years practicing in Calgary, Alberta, she provides evidence-informed chiropractic care with a warm, approachable style. Patients appreciate her commitment to listening carefully, explaining conditions clearly, and developing personalized treatment plans that reflect their goals.

Dr. Viscomi enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from young children to adults over 100 years of age. Her clinical interests include the treatment of disc herniations, sciatica and other pinched nerves, headaches, vertigo, neck pain, and low back pain. She utilizes a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and biopsychosocial approach to help patients achieve lasting improvements in their health, function, and quality of life.

While private practice has always been her passion and focus, Dr. Viscomi has also enjoyed contributing to her profession through a variety of leadership roles. She has lectured at the University of Calgary, served as an examiner for the Canadian Chiropractic Board Examinations, participated on the admissions panel at CMCC, mentored chiropractors through the Ontario Chiropractic Association, and is currently in her sixth year serving as a provincially elected Council member of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the regulatory body for chiropractors in Ontario.

Dr. Viscomi firmly believes that the best healthcare is collaborative. She is excited to be part of the multidisciplinary team at St. John’s Active Care, where patients benefit from a diverse team of healthcare professionals working together to provide coordinated, comprehensive care. She looks forward to helping patients build the right team of healthcare providers within the clinic, ensuring every aspect of their care is focused on helping them recover, stay healthy, and enjoy the best possible quality of life.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Viscomi enjoys spending time with her two children, Adrian and Amelia. Her interests include cooking, reading, writing, photography, playing the piano, and entertaining family and friends in her home.
