AjouterJulie Kay-Amar is a Toronto-based Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioner and Registered Acupuncturist with over 20 years in full-time practice, providing her patients with the positive impact of wellness-based living.
Julie completed a 4 year program at the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences at UHN which was granted to a select number of students by the University of Tianjin and Nanjing wishing to specialize in TCM. There, she also completed a concurrent degree in Complementary Medicine (Bachelor of Health Science) through a joint educational program with Charles Sturt University in Australia.

After completing over 4,000 hours of practical and theoretical diagnostics and clinical training Julie is able to call herself "Queen of Needles"!
She is a specialist when it comes to women's reproductive health and fertility, pregnancy, prenatal and post-partum care as well as hormonal balance.
Julie is also no stranger to providing natural healing through lifestyle counseling, dietary therapy, digestive health, and herbal medicine to address everything from anxiety and stress to migraines and sciatica.
Julie's fundamental belief and reason for her journey into complementary medicine was and continues to be that "vibrant aging should be something we all strive for to live our best lives well into our golden years"!
With a goal to help patients combine the best of all medicines and make informed decisions; and to promote the simple idea that everyone is worthy of putting themselves first, Julie continues to put her best foot forward for all those who find their way to her magic needles.

New patients will receive a comprehensive health assessment followed by an acupuncture treatment with Dr. Julie. This is the opportunity to discuss your health goals and explore your optimal healing path. This includes a detailed intake to assess any health concerns and imbalances in the body, using Chinese medical diagnostic tools. On your 2nd visit, you will be given a personalized treatment plan to ensure you have a clear roadmap towards your health goals. We will go over the results of your initial consultation and you will be provided with a personalized treatment plan. Follow up treatments consist of a check in to keep you on track to maintain the positive outcome for longevity and wellness. Along with acupuncture, treatments may also include fire cupping, moxibustion, lifestyle counselling and/or dietary recommendations according to the principles of Chinese dietary therapy and the Five Element Theory.
Please select this option if you would like a personalized acupuncture protocol to support your ovulation, balance your hormones, alleviate menstrual cycle-related symptoms, and optimize your fertility.
Please select this option if this is your first labour induction consultation, and if you are at or past 36 weeks gestation. You will receive acupuncture, herbal, and dietary recommendations during this visit. Ideally, starting at 35 weeks, you can receive weekly acupuncture until labour. Acupuncture in the final weeks of pregnancy can reduce the likelihood of medical induction, caesarean delivery, painful labour, and anxiety.
