Dr. Justin Stachowich was born and raised in Thunder Bay, ON where he graduated from Hammarskjold High School, as well as receiving his Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at Lakehead University. Justin went on to further his education and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, Texas graduating in 2014.
Dr. Stachowich, or Dr. Stak to his friends in Thunder Bay, is also a certified Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) Provider. FDM is a treatment model in which virtually all-soft tissue injuries or musculoskeletal complaints, are viewed through one or more of the six different types of alterations to the body’s connective tissues. These alterations/concepts are then applied for soft tissue mobilization to treat soft tissue and fascial conditions. Dr. Stak has further training as a medical professional through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) focusing on diagnosis and treatment of golf injuries with the emphasis on golf posture and swing mechanics. One of Dr. Stak's favourite things to do is spending the day at one of Thunder Bay's golf courses.
Not only does he golf, he keeps himself active by playing a game of hockey during the cold months or hiking through our city's beautiful nature trails. He also enjoys kicking back at the end of the day and exploring our city's diverse food scene with his friends and family, always happy to be spending time with his loved ones.
While working in Dallas, Texas, Justin had the privilege of working with the Allen Americans, an ECHL affiliate with the San Jose Sharks. There he was able to see first hand that athletes under regular chiropractic care have a greater potential for peak performance. He participated in numerous health screenings and community functions for the implementation of health promotion and wellness strategies, and worked extensively with all degrees within the running community – 5K marathon runners, triathletes and Iron Man’s. His passion is movement! Being able to move free of dysfunction and pain enables individuals to achieve an increased quality of life.

TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) is the world's leading educational organization dedicated to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. For over twenty years, TPI has gathered the world’s largest technical database of the game’s top Tour professionals as well as every-day golfers. TPI collects 3D motion capture, force, pressure, launch monitor, strength, power, and movement data on every player that visits the TPI campus. Using this data, TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Conversely, TPI determined how physical limitations in a player’s body can adversely affect the golf swing and potentially lead to injury. This relationship is what TPI calls The Body-Swing Connection and is the foundation of all professional Certification courses offered by TPI. If you don’t assess, it’s just a guess. To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened. A proper screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics, biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health, and injury history. The TPI movement screen is a simple test to quickly evaluate a player’s physical capabilities. The results of that assessment are used to determine how technical elements of the player’s swing could be related to what their body can or cannot do. Once this screen is finished, the results are used to create a plan unique for that golfer. The plan may include fitness training, physical therapy and treatment, coaching of swing mechanics and biomechanics, nutrition, mental strategy or all of the above.
