Dr. Li Ma is a Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncturist who graduated from PCU College of Holistic Medicine in Burnaby. She is licensed with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC) and is a member of the British Columbia Association of TCM and Acupuncture Practitioners (ATCMA).
Dr. Ma provides acupuncture, Tuina manual therapy (Chinese meridian- and acupoint-based massage), moxibustion, cupping, scraping (Gua Sha), and traditional Chinese herbal medicine. She treats various types of pain as well as internal conditions involving mental health, digestion, respiration, and women’s health, etc.
Believing in the body’s inherent ability to heal, Dr. Ma strives to listen deeply to each patient, offering trust, compassion, and a treatment approach that emphasizes fewer needles and less medication whenever possible.
Illness often develops over many years as a result of living in ways that do not follow the natural principles of life. As a classical Chinese Medicine practitioner, Dr. Ma believes that the mission of a healer is not only to treat diseases, but more importantly, to help people build correct health and wellness concepts. By doing so, individuals can improve their quality of life, reduce the chances of becoming ill, and thus avoid the need to constantly seek medical help.
Through many years of clinical experience, Dr. Ma has developed her own unique style of practice—one that goes beyond providing passive treatment. She takes time to understand and follow up on her patients’ daily habits, including diet, sleep, physical activity, and emotional patterns. By guiding them to care for themselves and their families in accordance with natural laws, she empowers patients to take an active role in their own healing.
For this reason, you will often see Dr. Ma demonstrating Taoist health-cultivation practices to her patients in the clinic. These exercises are simple and practical, yet rich in meaning, safe, and highly effective. Many patients have experienced significant benefits through consistent practice.
Integrating ancient health wisdom into modern life—and allowing it to guide people toward healthier living—has always been Dr. Ma’s guiding mission. If you are seeking natural approaches to health and wish to reduce reliance on medication, she is here to help.

Please book an initial session first. Sometimes called facial rejuvenation acupuncture, this treatment is a centuries-old practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It's not a modern gimmick—it's the original glow-up. Instead of injecting chemicals or freezing expressions, we use ultra-fine, hair-thin needles to stimulate specific acupuncture points on your face (and body) to: Increase circulation and lymphatic drainage, boost collagen and elastin production, relax overactive muscles (think forehead and jaw tension, tone and lift areas that have lost firmness and release emotional tension held in the face (hello, worry lines). It's a holistic, cumulative process that treats your skin and your overall health.
For returning patients only. Book this session if you like to extend your treatment to include other TCM modalities such as cupping, gua sha, tui na, acupressure, or your last visit has been longer than 6 months. If you are a new patient, please book an initial session.
Book this treatment if it's your first acupuncture session with Dr. Ma.
