From 2021 to 2022, Dr. Lynda Smith assisted in the Complementary Health Integration Program (CHIP), a research program in collaboration between ACATCM and the University of Calgary, which studied the value complementary health practices can add to low-income and marginalized individuals in Calgary.
In addition to practicing at the Integrative Health Centre in Inglewood, Dr. Smith is actively involved in numerous volunteer organizations, including the YYC Acupuncture Relief Project (YARP), which provided essential care to those affected by the floods in Calgary and surrounding areas. She is also a member of several professional associations, including the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAA), National Acupuncture Detox Association (NADA), and Acupuncture Without Borders (AWB).
