Dr. Marcia-Lisa Dennis received her BSc from McGill University, MSc from Dalhousie University and her Doctorate from Boston University. A rehabilitation professional since 1999 offering services to a varied clientele, she has extensive experience in community home-care; indigenous care, pediatrics, teaching at a private college, and working with military members (PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, chronic pain).
Dr. Lisa is an award-winning entrepreneur and has a special interest and is passionate about Black health and improving the health disparities that is caused by racism and trauma. Her doctoral project focused on the School to Prison Pipeline and she has developed a skills based anti-Black racism workshop for educators which has been modified for all audiences.

In this session the participant will be able to: Define 4 rehab concepts Explain the importance of a bottom-up approach to deal with the root cause. Find out what types of assessments need to be done to get a big picture.
