Dr. Natalie Blake focuses on helping patients move better, build strength, and recover from injury with confidence.
Her approach combines movement assessment, hands-on therapy — including Active Release Techniques — and exercise-based rehabilitation to address the underlying contributors to pain and restore efficient movement patterns.
With experience as both a personal trainer and competitive weightlifter, Natalie brings a strong understanding of biomechanics, strength development, and performance. She has a particular focus on women's health, and enjoys helping women build strength and feel confident and comfortable in the gym — alongside the same broad musculoskeletal training every OPC clinician shares, so she treats any injury or performance concern, not women's health alone.
She has also worked internationally as a team clinician, including with Team New Zealand's hockey program at the 2024 IIHF World Cup, and served as Medical Liaison for the 2025 55+ BC Summer Games.
She practices within the Optimal Performance Clinic system — Diagnose. Treat. Perform. — ensuring every patient receives the same consistent, high-level standard of care.

For more complex or multi-area injuries that require additional time. Ideal for persistent issues or situations where a more in-depth session is needed to make meaningful progress.
Billed toMotor vehicle claimICBC
For individuals injured in a motor vehicle accident. Includes a detailed history, comprehensive physical exam, musculoskeletal diagnosis, and completion of ICBC documentation. A clear treatment and recovery plan will be established, and treatment may begin if appropriate.
For existing patients dealing with a new injury or concern. We reassess what has changed, identify the underlying cause, and build a new, targeted plan so you can move forward efficiently.
This is where we figure it out. A comprehensive, full-body assessment to identify the true cause of your pain, injury, or performance limitation — not just treat symptoms. Most patients come to us after trying multiple providers without lasting results. We take a different approach by assessing how your body actually moves, where breakdowns occur, and why the issue developed. You’ll leave this session with: • A clear understanding of what’s going on • A targeted treatment approach • A plan to move forward with confidence When appropriate, treatment begins in this session so progress can start immediately.
DR. ELNA IS ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS. If you've been referred directly to Dr. Elna, are a high-performance athlete, or have been referred by a coach, sports team, or healthcare provider, please contact Dr. Elna directly at dr.johnson@optimalclinic.ca. Otherwise, please book your New Patient Assessment with Dr. Katrina Hombrebueno, Dr. Jake Hanna, or Dr. Natalie Blake. Our team works collaboratively, and if Dr. Elna's expertise would benefit your care, an internal referral or consultation will be arranged.
Reserved for targeted check-ins or specific progressions as directed by your clinician. Not intended for full treatment sessions — this is a brief, focused update within an existing plan.
This is not a quick, symptom-based visit. Each session is designed to address the full picture — combining hands-on treatment, movement correction, and rehabilitation to drive meaningful progress. Our longer sessions allow us to treat multiple contributing factors in one visit, reducing the need for frequent appointments. Focused, efficient care designed to get you better — and keep you there.
