###Meet Rebecca Stephens, Registered Acupuncturist & Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Rebecca is a Registered Doctor of Chinese Medicine (Dr.TCM) and Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists (CTCMA) of British Columbia. She completed her 5-year Doctor of Chinese Medicine at Pacific Rim College (Victoria, BC), and PCU College of Holistic Medicine (Burnaby, BC). She also holds an Honours B.Sc.(Agr.) from Dalhousie University (Halifax, N.S.).
In addition to her private practice, Rebecca is also currently an instructor of Acupuncture at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, and is a past instructor of Herbal Medicine at PCU College of Holistic Medicine.
Rebecca holds advanced training and certification in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and injury, point injection therapy, fertility, and facial rejuvenation/cosmetic acupuncture. Her areas of focus lie in musculoskeletal pain and injury, fertility, women’s health issues, gastrointestinal issues, and stress/anxiety. However, with the whole-body approach of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, every problem has the potential to be addressed, so her practice is not limited to these aspects alone.
With a background in Organic Agriculture, Rebecca’s love for Chinese Medicine developed from a love for plants and farming. She likens the balance of wellness in the body to that of a natural ecosystem; optimum health and productivity can be achieved when the entire system is addressed as a whole, and attention is paid to all the small details that make it work. After being introduced to the holistic theories of Chinese Medicine, which takes into consideration the patient’s constitution and customizes treatment for each unique situation, she found it was a natural fit. Coupling these interests with a genuine love for helping people, led her to pursue and education into this fascinating field, and continues to drive further pursuits of learning through seminars and workshops.
When you come in for treatment with Rebecca, you can expect a calm atmosphere of healing, an attentive and listening ear, and a gentle, effective approach of providing therapy and care.
