Dr. Scholz attended The University of Calgary where he studied physiology. He then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. He began practicing in 1998, joining a prominent clinic in Seattle, Washington. There he treated players from the Seattle Seahawks, The University of Washington athletes and a wide range of high performance athletes. In this practice care of patients was coordinated with medical doctors, physiotherapists and specialists like physiatrists and orthopedic surgeons.
At this time Dr. Scholz learned the importance of integrating multiple techniques like Active Release to achieve the best results for his patients. See Journal Entry #1.
Dr. Scholz returned to Calgary in 2000, joining a medical team in Southwest Calgary to become part of a multi-disciplinary clinic. In 2002 he opened Westside Chiropractic. He was the treating Chiropractor for The Alberta Ballet Professional Company, The School of Alberta Ballet, and The University of Calgary Dance program from 2000 to 2015. He was also the treating Chiropractor for the Calgary Hitmen for two seasons during this time.
Over the years he has grown his expertise in treating the pain and swelling found in an extensive range of conditions. He has a special interest in difficult cases as well as the treatment of pre/post operative and post-fracture pain and swelling including both the face and body. To this end, he has developed a new technique to rapidly reduce pain and swelling post-operatively.
Dr. Scholz believes that a multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare is the gold standard for patients. ‘If a patient has a strong team of healthcare providers working for them, they will not only have greater health but be more informed about their health.’
Outside of the clinic Dr. Scholz enjoys traveling with his family, weight-lifting, golfing and gardening.

Our New Patient Exam includes listening to the history of your injury, assessing the injury using range of motion and orthopedic tests, diagnosing the injury and if no imaging is required, treatment will occur at the same appointment time. Home care instructions are given at the end of the appointment with a treatment plan usually lasting for 2-3 weeks.

Before booking a Custom Orthotic Consultation and casting, it is recommended to confirm if a prescription is required from a medical doctor or podiatrist in order to make a claim through any extended health benefits you may be submitting to. Prescriptions by a chiropractor can be provided at no charge on the day of casting. Custom Foot Orthotics are $500 a pair with a 50% deposit required on day of consult and casting.

We'll listen to you about your injury and perform range of motion and orthopedic testing to diagnose your problem and if no imaging is required we will treat you at this appointment.
