###Who I See
The adults I work with have experienced difficult situations that make it hard to be fully present in their lives or maintain fulfilling relationships.
Many have experienced trauma, loss, major life transitions, chronic health concerns, or relationships that have left a lasting impact. Often, they feel stuck in these experiences, where the past continues to shape how they feel and relate to others, even when they want things to be different.
Their lives can feel overshadowed by guilt, shame, anger, or sadness.
At the same time, the people I see often feel disconnected from themselves and others. They don’t feel like themselves anymore and struggle to trust others or feel safe in the world. Some find themselves carrying a quiet belief that something is wrong with them, or that they are somehow broken.
They want to feel more like themselves again—more grounded, confident, and connected in their lives and relationships.
I also work with couples who experience challenges with communication and connection, especially following major life changes such as having children, job loss, caring for aging parents, or working to rebuild trust after it’s been broken.
Over time, some couples find that life takes over and distance grows between them. They feel caught in repetitive and unproductive communication patterns marked by criticism, misunderstanding, or disconnection.
Even when there is care for one another, it can feel difficult to truly reach each other.
###My Approach
Many people come to therapy wanting to “get rid of” painful thoughts and feelings.
In our work together, we take a different approach.
Rather than trying to push these experiences away, I support clients in slowing things down and making sense of what they’re going through, at a pace that feels manageable. We look at how these experiences developed, how they continue to show up, and what they may be connected to.
As this understanding deepens, many people begin to experience their thoughts and emotions differently. They feel less overwhelmed and more able to respond in ways that feel true to them.
Through this work, many people begin to:
- Feel more confident and connected to themselves
- Relate to themselves with greater compassion and less self-criticism
- Feel less overwhelmed by difficult thoughts and emotions
- Experience greater clarity and direction
- Strengthen connection and communication in their relationships
In couples work, we focus on understanding the patterns that develop between partners and creating new ways of responding to one another that feel more supportive, responsive, and connected.
