Dr. Shirley is a licensed acupuncturist dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care rooted in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is accredited by the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta and is a proud member of the Alberta Association of Acupuncturists and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She completed her education at the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she gained comprehensive training in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and holistic health modalities.
In her practice, Dr. Shirley uses a variety of acupuncture techniques including electroacupuncture, scalp acupuncture, and auricular acupuncture, thoughtfully selected based on each patient's needs. She also integrates complementary therapies such as cupping, gua sha and mud therapy to support pain relief, circulation, and relaxation.
When appropriate, she prescribes custom herbal formulas to address internal imbalances and promote long-term healing. Her clinical experience encompasses a variety of conditions, including insomnia, digestive disorders, anxiety, stress, acute or chronic pain, and women's health issues. She embraces a holistic approach that goes beyond symptom relief to address the underlying causes of imbalance and encourage overall wellness. Her treatments are grounded in clinical knowledge, intuitive care, and a deep respect for the healing process.
