Being raised in Canmore and having traveled around the world I have a true love and appreciation for people and the Rockies. Outside of my practice I love making memories with my family! I especially enjoy our adventures outdoors and being on the mountains.
My passion is in the martial arts which I have studied since 1995. The feeling of not being able to participate in training due to injuries, other health concerns, or just not feeling ‘right’ is extremely disappointing and has made me very mindful of my own health. Also having lived an active and busy lifestyle balancing work, study, and play I understand the importance of preventing disease, maintaining health, and treating illnesses in order to be able to continue to do and enjoy our favorite activities.
Health care has always been an interest for me. After graduating from Canmore Collegiate I went to the University of Alberta in Edmonton for a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and psychology. In my third year I was fortunate enough to do a year exchange in Japan where I met a martial arts instructor who was also a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM). Being inspired by him I decided to follow his footsteps. I graduated from the four year DTCM program in Calgary at the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2010 followed by a three month internship to China at a TCM hospital. Now ten years later the experience from China and my practice has made me even more excited about my profession, wanting to share the new knowledge, skills, and experiences to help you on your journey to optimal health.
I am also a new and excited mum. The joys and challenges of parenthood have reminded me of the importance of balance in our health in order to be our best selves!
