**Please note Dresdens practice is dedicated to women’s health and therefore exclusively treats women only.**
Dresden is a 2012 graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria. She spent the first 8 years of her career practicing in Victoria, in naturopathic, and multidisciplinary clinics, treating a variety of different people. In 2019, Dresden relocated back to her hometown in the Comox valley and began practicing entirely on women. Dresdens area’s of focus, are pelvic health, and nervous system support.
Dresden takes special interest in supporting women with pelvic discomfort and disfunction, and has experienced the benefits of massage therapy both personally and professionally on pelvic health. Dresden uses a variety of different treatment techniques to increase pelvic function, and decrease pelvic pain. She addresses the body from a biopsychosocial lens’s, considering how your environmental and emotional experience, may be contributing to your physical presentation of symptoms. Massage therapy can be extremely helpful in treating pelvic floor disfunction, including but not limited to the following:
-Pain with menstruation
-Prolapse and associated discomfort
-Painful bladder syndrome or Interstitial Cystitis
-Post operative scar discomfort from cesarean or abdominal surgery
-Digestive discomfort
-Sacral or Coccyx pain
-Generalized or specific pelvic discomfort
At the core of all of Dresden’s treatments, is nervous system support. Dresden is also trained in Craniosacral Therapy, and subscribes to the therapeutic philosophy that the body often holds unresolved “stuff”, that can manifest into physical discomfort. When the body feels safe, and tended to, we can begin to address these stuck areas, to help facilitate in the process of letting go. She treats mostly in silence, to encourage inner presence, and uses a medium style of pressure, to allow the body to gently unwind and release tension. Dresden has an informed treatment approach, which is also guided by her intuition, into an application that is attentive, therapeutic, and nurturing.
In addition to being an RMT who is trained in the Upledger method of Craniosacral Therapy, Dresden has also taken her yoga teacher training and has attended many mindfulness and meditation workshops.
