For 20 years, Elise has worked as a clinical Social Worker in various hospitals in the across the Greater Toronto Area, as well as a Bioethicist and Professional Practice Leader. She has also held executive roles in the private health care sector.
Throughout her career, Elise has worked with individuals experiencing grief and loss, complex medical issues, caregiver burnout and generalized anxiety. She has also combined her clinical knowledge and executive business experience to provide support and counselling for business professionals and business owners recognizing and appreciating their specific stressors and needs. Her down-to-earth and individualized approach to counselling has kept her as a reliable expert in both the Social Work and Bioethics field.
Elise was a Member of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto’s Research Ethics Board and was Vice Chair of a community volunteer board for a childcare program in Toronto. For 8 years, she was course director for a joint York University and Seneca College program in Rehabilitation Psychology, and led the development of the program’s Rehabilitation Counselling and Ethics courses.
As a recognized leader, speaker, and educator, Elise continues to mentor many students and professionals. Elise holds a Master of Social Work from Wilfred Laurier University, and Master of Health Science in bioethics from the University of Toronto.
