**What were you doing before pursuing RMT?**
I worked in veterinary medicine and later moved into the fitness and wellness industry. I became a yoga instructor and eventually worked as a lead instructor and manager at a local fitness studio, where I supported people in building strength, confidence, and body awareness. These experiences showed me how powerful encouragement, movement, and a supportive environment can be in helping people feel their best.
**Why do you want to be an RMT?**
I have always been fascinated by the human body and passionate about helping others feel better. Through my experiences in yoga, fitness, and working with animals, I saw how powerful caring touch and a calm, supportive environment can be in helping people relax and heal. Becoming an RMT allows me to combine my love of anatomy, movement, and connection while creating a space where clients feel comfortable, heard, and supported in their care. As a student therapist, I am excited to continue learning while providing thoughtful and attentive care to every person I work with.
**How do you like to spend your time outside of work/school?**
Some of my hobbies include practicing yoga, reading, and cooking or baking homemade meals. I love spending time outdoors camping or being near the water, and I also enjoy riding motorcycles. Riding has reminded me how vulnerable it can feel to try something new or step outside your comfort zone, and that experience has helped me develop patience and empathy for others when they are navigating something unfamiliar. I also really value spending quality time with my family and my fiancé, and I try to bring that same warmth, kindness, and supportive energy into the way I connect with my clients so they feel comfortable, supported, and at ease during their treatment.
**What is your favourite thing about VCMT?**
My favourite thing about VCMT is definitely my cohort and the amazing teachers. I feel really lucky to be surrounded by such supportive and fun classmates who encourage each other and make the learning environment positive and collaborative. The teachers are also incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, and they genuinely care about helping us grow into confident and skilled therapists.
