###Meet Farinaz
My name is Farinaz (you can also call me Farina), and I moved to Canada to continue my journey in counselling. Since then, I’ve been building my life and career here in beautiful British Columbia. Spring in Vancouver has a special place in my heart—I feel like people are happier and more open during this time, and it brings such a positive energy. It’s also meaningful to me because I was born in April, and in my culture, the New Year begins in spring, so it always feels like a fresh start.

Outside of my work, I’m someone who truly values connection, growth, and enjoying the little moments in life. I absolutely love music and dancing—especially tango and swing—and I’ve been actively pursuing it. Dancing is a space where I can freely move, feel deeply, and express my emotions. It allows me to let go of the worries of daily life, even if just for a little while, and reconnect with myself.
###Education & Qualification
Farinaz is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Farinaz holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a thesis about psychotherapy (Emotion Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy) for children with ADHD.
###Scope of Practice
Farinaz has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, particularly those facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and emotional regulation difficulties. In addition to her counselling experience, Farinaz has worked as a child care worker with children across a wide range of age groups, which has strengthened her understanding of developmental needs and her ability to build meaningful connections with children and families.
###Therapeutic Approach
Farinaz values building strong, trusting therapeutic relationships. She is passionate about supporting clients in a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where they can feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and integrative. Farinaz has experience working with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). She is also currently expanding her skills and training in EMDR.
Farinaz has completed and continue to pursue additional training in counselling and mental health to further support her clients with evidence-based and culturally sensitive care.

Farinaz offers counselling services in both English and Persian (Farsi).
