Fiona Demers (she/her) is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and a Canadian Clinical Supervisor (CCS), #10002355 with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and holds a Masters of Counselling Psychology degree from the University of Calgary.

I believe that we all have within us the innate ability to heal ourselves and that every person is capable of change. While the path to healing is not an easy one, the good news is you do not have to make the journey alone.

Honoring your strengths and lived experience, I take a holistic and integrative approach to tailor our work to meet your unique personality and goals. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

I create a safe, calm, and supportive space for you to gain insights, new tools, and the confidence to use them. I help my clients to view themselves through a more compassionate lens and to feel truly seen and heard. Whether your goal is to gain a deeper understanding of your emotions, to feel better equipped to cope with life’s challenges, to foster healthier connections with yourself and others, or to make a change when you are feeling stuck, I can support you in your journey to create a more fulfilling life.

In addition to working with individuals, I am passionate about supporting couples by deepening and strengthening their relationships. Whether you are in a long term committed relationship or just starting a relationship I can help you to gain insights and concrete tools to transform your relationship. Drawing on evidence-based approaches such as the Gottman Method and Emotion Focused Therapy I create a safe container for you to have difficult conversations, repair ruptures and heal from betrayals, gain a deeper understanding of your relational patterns, create a shared vision for your relationship, and develop new ways of turning towards one another instead of away.
