Gemma’s approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, along with strategies from Dialectical Behaviour-Informed Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She also utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD. When working with couples, she draws from Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1). Gemma believes in adjusting her treatment approach according to your needs and preferences. Gemma’s work is shaped by clinical, research, and lived experience. She has supported individuals in frontline settings involving addiction, houselessness, trauma, and domestic abuse, and has contributed to research related addiction and drug policy. These experiences inform her belief that therapy should feel collaborative, respectful, and grounded in each person’s goals and context. She aims to create a space where clients feel validated and comfortable being honest about what they’re experiencing- including the parts that feel confusing, heavy, or difficult to say out loud. Clients often describe Gemma’s style as warm, down-to-earth, and genuine. She values humour and lightness, while also making room for meaningful and challenging conversations. Her goal is to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward changes that feel realistic and aligned with their values. Gemma also brings lived experience with OCD, which informs her understanding of the stigma and isolation that can accompany the disorder. She strives to create a space where clients feel understood without judgement and supported in making progress at their own pace. Gemma is currently accepting new clients for evening and daytime appointments. She can be reached directly at gemma@sanapsychological.comEn savoir plus sur GemmaAfficher moins
