Ginny is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminology from Simon Fraser University. She has clinical experience across a range of settings, including hospitals, private practice clinics, homeless shelters, and educational environments, supporting older teens and adults with individual counselling.
Ginny’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She focuses on helping clients develop meaningful and effective strategies to manage life’s challenges. Her experience and training include supporting individuals with a wide variety of mental health challenges, such as mood and personality disorders, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief, to name a few.
Ginny’s goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected through a non-judgmental and empathetic approach. Outside of her clinical work, Ginny enjoys reading, gardening, and travelling. She also values time in nature and especially enjoys visiting Whistler, where she likes to walk and e-bike along the trails.
