I am a queer white settler, partner, caregiver, educator, and a lover of nature. My passion for counselling began when I was a youth accessing counselling myself. Since then, I have worked with children, youth, and adults in a variety of fields such as youth outreach, mental health, substance use, tutoring, and psychology lab facilitation. I believe my previous experience has given me a breadth of understanding in how to support people across the lifespan with various challenges and needs. As a counsellor, I believe I bring that experience along with a sense of warmth and authenticity to the counselling room.
I am accepting both individual and relationship counselling clients. I have a special interest and am experienced in working with folks who live alternative lifestyles. If I sound like a good fit for your counselling journey, you can book a complimentary 15-minute phone or virtual consultation with me before your first session. Counselling sessions with me may be covered by extended benefits. Receipts will include my supervisor’s Registered Social Worker (RSW) number - please contact your insurance provider to ensure eligibility if this is applicable to you.
**My philosophy**
I aid my clients in coming to a greater understanding of themselves, their history and where they would like to go. Alternative lifestyles and relationships are at the forefront of my work. All folks, individuals, and people in relationships are welcome. I strongly believe in the power of affirmative and holistic counselling. I strive to support my clients through an intersectional lens and believe that each person has a unique perspective and context that deserves to be validated and respected. My approach to counselling is gentle, collaborative, and strengths based. In my work, I support my clients in strengthening their understanding of their own story while holding space and empathy for the complexities of their human experience. As a previous educator, you may find that I often provide psychoeducation when appropriate as a part of my practice.

Spending time outdoor and in nature can significantly improve our mental and physical health. Walk-and-talk therapy combines physical activity, nature, and talk therapy to form a wrap around approach that can help with mental health in a number of ways, including: - reducing anxiety, depression, and stress - reducing intrusive and ruminative thoughts, and an increased ability to be present -increased energy, sense of well being, and emotional regulation.
These sessions are collaborative and paced to your nervous system and capacity. Depending on what you’re experiencing, we may focus on emotional processing, practical reflection, relationship patterns, stress responses, or increasing awareness of how thoughts and feelings are held in the body. Each one responds to what you need in that moment. Over time, this work is aimed at helping you feel more grounded, clear and connected to yourself, with tools and insight you can carry into daily life. This 75-minute session is $155 + gst
