Happiness Anekwe (She/Her) is a registered Social Worker (#15310) with the British Columbia College of Social Workers and holds a Master of Social Work degree, from Canada’s prestigious University—McGill University.

What drives me most is my belief in the resilience of the human spirit. I believe that every individual has the potential to heal, transform, and thrive. Life’s challenges can sometimes obscure that inner strength, making it difficult to envision a way forward. My role is to support clients and help clear the path toward rediscovering their resilience and hope. Whether I’m working with an individual in crisis, collaborating with a team, or running a workshop, I approach each moment with empathy, curiosity, and a deep commitment to making a difference.

With over 15 years of practice, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals in both hospital and community settings, helping them navigate challenges and life transitions including but not limited to:

I believe that clients are unique, therefore I utilize an eclectic approach by combining several therapy methods to address an individual’s specific needs, goals, and expectations. My work is rooted in evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) all within a trauma-informed lens. Beyond the techniques, my focus is always on creating a safe, inclusive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered.

##Personal Qualities / Strengths as a Counsellor##

With Canada being a multicultural society, I have navigated the intersection of culture, identity, and lived experience. I therefore bring a deep sense of empathy and understanding to my work while working with individuals from various backgrounds. I bring a calm and understanding approach that helps individuals feel supported to work through their challenges.

Outside of my work, I enjoy the outdoors of Prince George. Moving from a busy city, Montreal, to a quiet one, Prince George, has made me appreciate nature and its rejuvenating effects.

I’m a lifelong learner, always seeking ways to expand my skills and contribute meaningfully to my community. I believe in the power of connection, the importance of compassion, and the incredible capacity we all have to grow through life’s transitions.
