The phone consultation provides an opportunity to discuss what support you are looking for and to give you an opportunity to ask questions you may have about counselling. I will also be able to touch on my practice approach as a Registered Social Worker to evaluate if your needs align. This will help determine that you are meeting with a counsellor that fits your needs.

During the initial session is when we begin to build a therapeutic relationship by providing a space for you to tell your story. In hopes that I can learn about the challenges you may be facing so we can work towards creating some goals of what you would like to work on. We will collaborate on how this plan may be best implemented moving forward. This will also be a chance for me to gather some psycho-social information in order to prepare effectively for future sessions.

In the subsequent sessions we will begin working towards the goal and plan we have discussed and put into place during the initial session. Through these sessions I will also provide information and resources that you can refer to after sessions to support your healing journey. As we move forward in the process together, we will be able to continuously evaluate progress and make changes when appropriate.
