**What were you doing before pursuing RMT?**
I’ve lived a few professional lives: I spent three years as a software engineer in game development, worked the line in high-volume professional kitchens, and spent time in a merchant facing sales position.
**Why do you want to be an RMT?**
I’ve always been a hands-on problem solver. I chose massage therapy because it allows me to use technical precision to help people find tangible relief, improve their mobility, and reconnect with their bodies.
**How do you like to spend your time outside of work/school?**
When I’m not in the clinic or buried in textbooks, I’m usually deep into a strategy game. I’m a big fan of tabletop gaming and TCGs! There’s something about the mechanics and social aspect that I find incredibly rewarding. I also enjoy experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or spending time with my dog. It’s a mix of high-stakes strategy and low-key creativity that keeps me sharp and energized!
**What is your favourite thing about VCMT?**
The level of clinical expertise and the supportive, high-energy environment. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and I feel that they truly care about molding us into competent, thoughtful therapists. I love the balance between rigorous academic theory and the immediate opportunity to apply those skills in the student clinic. It’s a community that pushes you to be your best while making sure you have the tools to get there.
**Do you speak fluently any languages other than English?**
I am fluent in Tagalog and English, and I'm conversational in Japanese. I am also an avid Duo Lingo enjoyer, currently working on my Mandarin, Korean, and Spanish. I love the way language connects people, and while I’m still a student of many, I’m always happy to practice a few phrases or learn something new from my clients!
