She is passionate about educating her patients on the natural healing processes of Acupuncture, Cupping and the incorporation of herbs to manage and treat many diseases based on TCM principles. Her belief is that with TCM, one of the primary principals is that “once energy flows in the right pathways of meridians, there is no sickness in the human body”. Her focus on health care with TCM is not only to manage a variety of pain symptoms, but also to treat gynecological disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, musculoskeletal conditions as well many post surgical complications. Furthermore, she incorporates pulse diagnosis in her TCM treatments which provides her with a detailed analysis of a patients’ comprehensive health condition. In many cases, she may make nutritional and dietary recommendations to assist in the enhancement of a patients’ overall lifestyle. Aside from seeing patients for clinical care, Dr. Koh has had experiences in the educational field of TCM. She was an instructor at the Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology in Victoria, BC as well as an adjunct professor at Central College in New Westminster, BC. She also lectured at the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy in North Van, BC, and believes that education is a critical component of health and wellness. On her personal time, in order to ensure that she practices self care, she trains regularly in QiGong, a traditional form of Tai chi. She also practices KenDo and Iaido, both of which are martial arts technique involving swords and coordinated movement patterns.
Finally, in joining the health team at Columbia Integrated Health Centre, she endeavours to use her TCM clinical skills and knowledge to treat her patients in the most responsible and respectful manner while educating them in the hopes that they live a healthier and more balanced life.
