I would love to see people before they start a new season, sport, or on a “check up” basis. I take a global approach to functional movement to re-pattern what muscles aren’t firing correctly so that I can optimize your biomechanics, and allow you to do what you love pain-free, and to the best of your ability. That may involve soft tissue work, motor control assessment and re-patterning, functional movement techniques, lots of foot work, and electroacupuncture if tolerated. I treat a lot of crossfitters and rugby players to help them rehab injuries and up their game.
My other treatment passion is music and entertainment. I’ve been fortunate to work with a number of bands, dancers and the WWE over the years and help them all rock out. It’s a really fun part of my job, given my obsession with live music.
A little more history: Jamie obtained her Masters in Physiotherapy with distinction from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom after completing an honours degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. She was fortunate to spend the majority of her spare time in Leeds interning with Leeds’ professional rugby union team, the Leeds Tykes. She applied the experience she gained with the Tykes as the rinkside physiotherapist for the Marlies Midget AAA hockey team and the 2009 U23 Ontario women's rugby team. Jamie is certified in NKT (level 3), Medical Acupuncture, Rocktape, and Anatomy in Motion's Finding Centre course. In her spare time, Jamie pursues a variety of sports interests. She competed for many years on the A-level equestrian circuit, and is an avid runner, having completed her first half-marathon in 2001. Her other sports interests include crossfit, basketball, rugby, swimming and she is a certified level 1 CSIA ski instructor.
