Osteopathic massage therapy is a therapeutic technique that combines principles of osteopathy with massage therapy to promote overall health and wellness. It focuses on the body's musculoskeletal system, aiming to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance the body's natural healing processes. Unlike traditional massage, osteopathic massage takes a holistic approach, addressing not just the symptoms but also the underlying causes of discomfort. Osteopathic massage integrates a variety of massage techniques into osteopathic work, such as Craniosacral Therapy, rocking and harmonics, stretches, Myofascial Release, Visceral Manipulation, and joint mobilizations. This type of therapy is often chosen by individuals dealing with recurring pain, postural strain, or discomfort that seems to have multiple causes.
