Jenefer Barnes is a dual-regulated Registered Nurse and Registered Acupuncturist with over 30 years of clinical experience in integrative healthcare. Her diverse background spans Trauma, ICU, end-of-life Hospice care, and global medical device leadership, giving her a rare and comprehensive perspective on patient care.
Jenefer seamlessly bridges Western biomedical nursing with evidence-informed Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Acupuncture. She delivers compassionate, ethical, and highly personalized care, combining strong clinical judgment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advanced therapeutic communication to support patients and families through even the most complex health journeys. Known for her ability to problem-solve mysterious or challenging conditions while simultaneously strengthening the body’s natural capacity for balance, homeostasis, and healing, Jenefer offers a truly holistic approach. She integrates clinical rigor and safety with whole-person healing, empowering patients to achieve optimal wellness.
Her care philosophy is truly rooted in integrative, whole-person healing. She believes the most effective care bridges the best of Western biomedical medicine and evidence-informed Traditional Chinese Medicine. By combining clinical rigor, safety, and advanced assessment skills with the holistic principles of acupuncture and TCM, she helps patients address root causes rather than just symptoms.
She sees every patient as a unique individual, physically, emotionally, and energetically, and tailors each treatment plan with compassion, respect, and deep listening. Whether supporting someone through complex or mysterious health challenges, chronic pain, stress, trauma recovery, or end-of-life transitions, her goal is to restore balance, homeostasis, and the body’s innate ability to heal.
What she finds most rewarding is witnessing patients regain a sense of hope, vitality, and control over their health. There is nothing more fulfilling than watching someone move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to experiencing real improvement in their body and quality of life, often when other approaches have fallen short. Being able to walk alongside patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments, using both her nursing and acupuncture expertise, is an incredible privilege.

This is a Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture Follow Up appointment that is not paired with skinceuticals treatments and should only be booked if you have already had an initial assessment. This treatment includes traditional acupuncture plus facial acupuncture to address health and beauty concerns. Treatment will include gua sha or cupping and other myofacial techniques to the face.

The initial visit includes a comprehensive assessment and treatment using acupuncture techniques to promote fertility outcomes. Acupuncture appointments booked with a naturopath will be invoiced under Naturopathic coverage and appointments with a Registered Acupuncturist will be invoiced under Acupuncture.

The initial session starts with a discussion of your current symptoms and health history, followed by a diagnostic exam that includes pulse and tongue analysis. A customized treatment plan will be created for you. Treatments during the session may include acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, moxibustion (heat therapy), cupping, gua sha, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations
