Jennifer Kentner is a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) who is a member with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada and Speech-Language & Audiology Canada. She works primarily with the preschool and school-aged population. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts and Georgian College with her post-graduate diploma as a CDA.
Jennifer is originally from a small farming community in southern Ontario, however has lived in Guelph since she moved to the area for University, and moved to Centre Wellington in 2021 for a quieter lifestyle that she has always loved.
Jenn uses a family-centred approach and has worked for over 20 years in the Fergus and Elora regions in clinic, home, and daycare/school settings.
Through her experience, she has worked with a variety of developmental and acquired speech, language and communication difficulties, including preschool speech and language development, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, stuttering, cleft lip and palate, motor speech disorders, and complex communication needs. Jennifer prides herself on a family centered and developmental treatment approach to meet the needs of the client, with specific training in DIR/Floortime™ & Shanker Self-Reg® (Level 2). Jennifer has also had ongoing training and education from The Hanen Centre® (It Takes Two to Talk™, More Than Words™, SPARK Communication™, Teaching Tuning-In™), and The Speech & Stuttering Institute.

This will be an online visit using video conferencing
30 minute speech and language treatment session following an assessment.
45 minute speech and language treatment session following an assessment.
60 minute speech and language treatment session following an assessment.

This is a 90 minute appointment for a standardized assessment evaluating speech and language development. To be booked when you require formal language testing.
Support for infant feeding including breast/chest feeding and bottle feeding. Support pre and post tongue tie release and oral motor skills.
Follow up appointment for infant feeding
Longer appointment for infant feeding follow up - book if you have multiple challenges to trouble shoot/follow up on, or if you just like a little extra time. Reassessment if it has been more than 6 months since our last visit.
Re-assessment for individuals who previously participated in a full assessment. If you have not seen this clinician before, please book an Assessment visit first.

This is a 60 minute speech and language assessment required for all new clients as their first appointment. If you require a standardized language assessment (formal language testing) please book an extended assessment as this requires more time.
