Jessica received her Bachelor of Kinesiology (B.Kin) from Simon Fraser University in Spring 2022, and is currently a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK).
Jessica started powerlifting in 2019 and has competed and placed in IPF-sanctioned powerlifting events. Powerlifting is a strength sport where the goal is to lift the heaviest weight in the barbell squat, bench, and deadlift. She enjoys powerlifting due to it being an individual sport where you focus on being stronger than you were previously. This internal drive for self-improvement is rewarding for her.
Jessica’s specialty is in strength training, and she has worked with various clients in a gym setting as a certified personal trainer. She enjoys coaching people on lifting safely with correct technique, while gaining confidence inside and outside the gym.
As a kinesiologist, Jessica has helped patients rehabilitate through a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries, whether they be sustained through motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents, sports, or activities of daily life. She can also speak Mandarin, allowing her to connect to a greater number of patients.
Outside of the clinic, Jessica enjoys working out in the gym, walking her dogs, and doing martial arts. She practices Choy Lee Fut, a southern style of kung fu. She is also very involved in lion dancing and dragon dancing around Chinatown, and has recently gotten into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well.
